The Dog Pound - Illustrator

Author/Illustrator Paul Brett Johnson is a native of Kentucky's Appalachian Mountains — Mousie, Kentucky to be exact. He has published over twenty books for children. His work has garnered numerous honors including two Kentucky Bluegrass Awards and a California Young Readers' Medal. Many of his books have been selected to noteworthy lists in School Library Journal, American Bookseller, Bulletin, Smithsonian magazine, the New York Public Library's "100", and the IRA/CBC children's choices. He has been profiled in Children's Writer's & Illustrator's Market as well as Writers' Digest. He has been listed in Who's Who In America. Paul currently lives in Lexington, Kentucky. Some interesting facts about Paul Brett:
He was hoping for a future in basketball, but in his entire elementary basketball career, he only scored two points during official play — and he made those at the wrong end of the court!
He taught elementary school art for a year, took photographs for a theater company, and even made fifty-foot hot dogs for grocery store displays. Hmmm… Fifty-foot hot dogs?
And yes, in case you're wondering, he does like peanut butter and jelly! His initials are PBJ, you know!
