A Special Message From Woody... Hi Friends! Every time Chloe and I talk to kids across Kentucky, we say that it is important to learn something new every single day. We also stress the importance of sharing. We say that when a person shares, everybody involved gains something and is a winner. Well, Chloe and I just learned something new. Therefore, we want to share it with you. Now, I am sure all of you know how bad I hate having my teeth brushed. Something about that toothbrush just scares me. Mommy and Daddy are always telling Chloe and me how important it is to brush our teeth. Well, last week I lost a tooth. I was a little scared to tell Mommy, but she said we would get it taken care of. She also explained that was one of the reasons I needed to brush my teeth. That night, we put that tooth under my pillow. The next morning, I couldn't wait to wake up to see what the Tooth Fairy left me. He left me a new collar and a dentabone! I was so excited. (He threw in a prize for Chloe too. The Tooth Fairy must be a very nice person.) I was hoping he would keep coming, but I haven't lost anymore teeth! (Note: I wouldn't suggest losing a tooth so you will have a visit from the Tooth Fairy.) Mommy took Chloe and me to Dr. Albert and Dr. Cecil – the two best puppy doctors in the world. She wanted the two of them to check our teeth. Dr. Cecil suggested that we actually see a Doggy Dentist. (Our teeth aren't that bad, but he knows that Mommy and Daddy always want the best for us.) Dr. Barron Hall is now our dentist and oral surgeon. He is the best. As a doggy dentist, Dr. Hall knows things that regular vets may not be familiar with – even the best vets in the world like Dr. Albert and Dr. Cecil. For instance, do you know that if a puppy has chronic sneezing, a broken tooth (like myself), recurring eye infections, or even bad breath it could be a sign of periodontal disease? Achoo! Excuse me. Did you know that periodontal disease could lead to other problems such as heart, kidney or liver disease? Well, we didn't know all of that either. That is why Chloe and I wanted to share our new information with you. We also want you to know about our new dentist and oral surgeon. Again, his name is Dr. Barron Hall. He is located in Northern Kentucky at the Greater Cincinnati Animal Dental Care (located within the Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialist) and his office phone number (859) 572-0560. You can also visit his webpage at www.vetdentalcare.com. (Even my teeth don't look as yellow as the teeth on that website.) If any of you pups out there are having teeth and/or gum problems, if it hurts to chew on your favorite toy, if you can't eat your favorite chicken and liver treat, or you simply just need a routine cleaning, Chloe and I suggest you give Dr. Hall a call. Sure, it might be a long drive from where you are living, but hey, after Dr. Hall takes care of you, nobody will ever say, "You've got dogbreath!" or call you "Snaggletooth" again! I better go. I have a toothbrushing to go to. Work and Dream Like a Big Dog! Arff! Woody |
